The visual search engine Quintura relaunched today and its new interface seems better than its previous one. Once you type a search term in the search box, at the top of the screen, a cloud of related terms shows up on the left of the screen, along with search results on the right. If you place your mouse over one of the terms in the cloud, then automatically the search results refresh on the right. Pretty clever. Give it a go!

One Cyprus online store is advertising the new and highly anticipated satellite receiver by Dream-Multimedia, the DM8000. The receiver has all the goodies one could ever want and need for watching satellite tv.

It features a twin DVB tuner, it is HDTV compatible, wi-fi ready (for communicating with your home network) and has 3 USB ports; just to name a few of its specs. The price? 550 Cyprus pounds. A bit on the high-end but a good purchase for the serious satellite hobbyist.

From Brighthand.com: “Ken Dulaney, an analyst with market-research firm Gartner, says he was told by unnamed sources that Palm is looking for a buyer”.

I first got to know this car by stumbling accross an article on www.cardesignnews.com a few years back. The other day I saw the same car in real life, here in Limassol. The color was black, the design was as beautiful as in the pictures I have seen back then and the car looked like a dream passing in front of me.  Alfa Brera is one of the most beautiful, aerodynamic and classy cars out there.  Can’t wait to see it in red!

From BBC: “Rock band Genesis will perform their biggest concert ever with a free gig for more than 400,000 fans at an ancient hippodrome in Rome.” Not to be missed if you are in town (or even not in town).

What did you expect? That Apple would be allowed to go ahead with its iPhone and get no competition at all? Don’t think so! Microsoft has confirmed that it plans to release its own phone, through its Zune music player gadget. Microsoft wants to directly attack Apple on this heated battleground that is expected to create a lot of revenue, for both phone manufacturers and wireless phone carriers.

The Limassol Carnival has started today, 8th of February, 2007 and will run through to the 17th of February, 2007. If you are in town don’t miss the opportunity to join a party, see the big carnival parade and take part in this event that you will definitely enjoy. Have fun!

It’s all over the airwaves by now (heard it on bestradio):

JAMIROQUAI are set to play at 35,000ft on a specially modified Boeing 757 flying from Munich to Athens. Winners will be taken to the German city to board the flight on February 27, escorted to the aftershow party, provided with an overnight stay and flown back to the UK the next day. Food and drinks are on the house too. And sponsors Sony Ericsson will give each winner one of their W950i Walkman phones.”
