Desktoptwo free web desktop

Desktoptwo is a “free web-based desktop or webtop (some call it a WebOS, although we feel that’s a bit premature… for now) that mimics the look, feel and functionality of a local computer, all contained within one browser window and fully accessible from any Internet-connected device”.

I just set up an account and while doing so the setup procedure verified that I have the latest Flash Player version instealled; Desktoptwo requires Flash to run. The setup was fast, just a sign-up of an account really.

I am now logged in my Desktoptwo (using Flock browser) and I have at my disposal a lot of tools, like a notepad, an RSS Reader, an MP3 Player, an Instant Messenger (MSN compatible) and so on. This seems to be a truly functional and complete web-based desktop that you can access from wherever there is an internet connection.

So next time you are travelling you could log in to your Desktoptwo to take down a note, listen to some mp3s or even work on a document (OpenOffice is also available).

I wonder whether Desktoptwo is from the same people who gave us Desktop long time ago, but which unfortunately never took off.
